About the Professor:
Br. George Hubl, born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 21 Dec. 1973, prof. 6 Aug. 1999. Photographer for Campus Publications, help supervise and maintain darkroom and Hal Owen Photographic Studio facilities and serves as St. Gregory’s University webmaster. He has had a lifelong interest in photography.

Course Description:
In this course, students refine their photographic ability through supervised work for student publications. Emphasis is placed on the preparation of photographs with journalistic impact. This course may be repeated up to a total of eight credit hours. Requirement-- a four megapixel digital camera or higher and some knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
Goals of the Course:
- To enable the students to understand the criteria for evaluating photographs from a journalistic viewpoint.
- To give the students practical experience preparing photographs for publication.
- To refine the students photographic skills.

Computers and Adobe Photoshop are supplied by the University for the preparation of photographs assigned by the professor. Students supply their own Four megapixel digital camera or higher, memory cards, and if needed CD-W’s or CD-RW’s.
Method of Student Evaluation:
Students are evaluated on the photographs that they are assigned to produce each week. These photos are to be finished are ready for publication, with appropriate captions. In these captions recognizable persons should be identified and pertinent information that cannot be gleaned from the picture itself should be provided.
