Objectives:
· Students will learn the 5 key concepts of a total workout program.
· Students will learn that workouts done in an instructor based, group setting can still be individualistic in content.
· Students will learn a variety of aerobic activities and the benefits of cross training.
· Students will learn that aerobic workouts should be part of their lifestyle.
· Students will learn proper alignment, technique, and contraindicative exercises.
Textbook: None. Handouts will be given throughout the semester.
Grading Criteria: Students will be evaluated by
1)Class participation (5 points/class - student must attend at least 20 aerobic classes during the semester 100 points)
2) Upkeep of a computerized exercise log (5 points/30 minute workout - student must workout an additional 2 times/week in addition to the required aerobic class - 150 points). Please use Word or Excel for your computerized log.
3)Emailing the computerized exercise log to me 4 times during the semester
(25 points/email 100 points total).
Exercise logs are due by noon on September 14, October 12, November 16,
and December 7.
4)A final exam (100 points) will be given during finals week. Date/Time to be determined.
Grading scale: 405-450
points = A
360-404
points = B
315-359
points = C
270-314
points = D
Below
270 points = F
Attendance & Tardiness Policy: In
accordance with St. Gregorys University policy, students will be sent a
warning after two absences and are subject to being dropped from the class
after the third absence. Tardiness will
be addressed like absences.
Late Assignment Policy: The following policy will be implemented for late assignments.

Papers
over 15 days late will not be accepted
